Amazon Kindle eBook Reader - A Hot Seller In 2008!

According to analyst Mark Mahaney, Amazon.com sold 500,000 Kindle eBook reader devices during the 2008 year, far ahead of the estimated 378,000 units anticipated by most analysts.

Amazon has not yet released any sales numbers on the device but Mahaney says the "integrated EVDO antenna in each Kindle has provided an alternative gauge." Sprint's recent financial earnings report added that 210,000 "certain devices" were activated in the third quarter.

As an early marketing gimmick, Amazon originally nicknamed the device the "iPod of reading" and if Mahaney is right, then sales are rivaling that of the original launch line of the iPod. In its first year of availability, Apple sold 400,000 of the media devices.

Amazon has seen huge demand that has way outpaced supply since its release.

1001 Ways to Market Your Books

If you’ve read through your Membership Manual, you’re already aware that we’ve provided you with a listing of over 70 ways to promote your business for little to no money... if 70 wasn’t enough, “1,001 Ways To Market Your Books” is sure to please.

John Kremer's home might be nestled in Iowa cornfields, but his advice on book marketing comes straight from publishing's epicenter. 1001 Ways to Market Your Books is a tome of biblical proportion, a 700-page "organized potpourri" of useful ideas, examples, tips, and suggestions.

You name it, Kremer covers it: publication scheduling, series and directory writing, attaining bestsellerdom, direct mail, cover design, offbeat advertising, online sales, alternative markets, and much (really!) more. He includes addresses and phone numbers, Web site addresses, and hundreds of marketing stories from authors and publishers. It is these stories that inspire one to think outside the box.

One Canadian author changed his last name from Zimmerman to Cimmerman purely for bookstore-placement purposes. And Greg Godek, author of 1001 Ways to Be Romantic, performs a reverse shoplift. He sneaks copies of his books onto stores' shelves, figuring that if a copy sells, the store will order more.

 IMPORTANT REMINDER - Upcoming PayPal Club Update

Over the last two month’s we’ve mentioned we’re in the process of migrating to a new payment platform so you don’t have to sign up for PayPal to accept credit card payments. While we were aiming to have this new set of features online in January, we’ve pushed back the launch date as we want to add even more features for you before we launch. Unfortunately you have to wait just a little longer- but the “hand off” approach and new features are well worth the wait!

Starting in March 2009 orders placed through your bookstore will be handled for you by The Software Billions Club. What this means is, essentially, we will be removing the hassle for you and your customers by processing all of your credit card orders here internally, bypassing the need for a PayPal account. This change will occur automatically with no additional actions required on your part. (You will have the option to keep PayPal as your processor, if you choose).

Once a month we will mail you a check for all of the commissions you’ve earned for signing up your customers for their own bookstores (as we’ve been doing) PLUS you’ll also receive a check from us each month for all of the eBook and CD-ROM sales you’ve generated through your bookstore. You’ll be able to easily and instantly track all of your sales online in our Members Area.

This will eliminate the confusion caused by PayPal and is completely hands off for you... whether you own a computer or not, now you’ll be able to accept credit card payments without having to sign up for a PayPal account! Stay tuned!

Coming in 2009

• In the first quarter of 2009 we’re giving away a BRAND NEW Amazon Kindle Reader which allows you to take (and read) your eBooks anywhere you go! Oprah Winfrey recently endorsed this product on her show. Click Here.

  This NEW video will contain a complete walkthrough of The Software Billions Club. Our live host will literally “take you by the hand” and explain all aspects of the program to you, including your monthly membership benefits, instructions on how to get started quickly, how to accept credit card payments, how your customers buy eBooks from you, how to check for orders, how the affiliate program works and much more!
  
  We’re also featuring members (like you) on our new DVD. They’ll explain what they did and how they became successful with their Software Billions Club membership.
