 eBooks Are Here To Stay : Oprah, Disney fan of eBooks

eBooks are gaining mainstream attention worldwide. Oprah Winfrey recently endorsed eBooks and a popular electronic eBook Reading Device called the Amazon Kindle.

Over the last year eBooks have been featured on the cover and / or reviewed by many major magazines including Entertainment Weekly and reported on by many television news outlets. Even the Walt Disney Company announced this month that they are jumping on the “eBook bandwagon” and will begin offering eBooks for sale— a huge indication that eBooks Are Here To Stay. Here’s why selling eBooks and using the incredible Amazon Kindle are a winning combination:

• Your customer gets his/her eBook immediately rather than having to wait in long lines, or even having to wait for the book to arrive in the mail. Your customer doesn’t have to pay for shipping.
   
• eBooks don’t require any paper, thereby saving trees and protecting the environment; with your computer or Kindle, eBooks provide a “green way” to read. It doesn’t cost any money to print eBooks and you don’t have to pay for postage since eBooks can be sent via email or wirelessly to your Kindle.
   
• You can make an unlimited number of copies which allows you to make 100% of the profit after the initial sale.
   
• Downloading eBooks onto a Kindle allows you to take your entire library with you any place, at any time! It would be nearly impossible to carry your entire collection of physical books with you everywhere you go— The Kindle is equipped to hold about 200 books and is capable of storing more than 4,000 eBooks at your fingertips.
   
• The Amazon Kindle is also being tested in colleges across the country as a way to replace heavy textbooks.
   
• eBooks are digital so they’re cheaper than regular books, and they take up less space than physical books.

 Microsoft Windows 7® Compatibility

Microsoft has just announced their newest Windows Operating System, Windows 7 will be available on October 22, 2009. Windows 7 is the easiest, fastest, and most engaging version of Windows yet.

The OS includes better ways to find and manage files; Jump Lists and the improved taskbar previews help you speed through everyday tasks. Faster and more reliable performance means your PC just works the way you want it to. Great features like Windows Media Center and Windows Touch make new things possible. In fact, Windows 7 Professional even includes XP Mode which allows you to run Windows XP programs from right inside of Windows 7.

The Software Billions Club has been thoroughly testing the new Windows 7 operating system since January, and highly recommends upgrading to Windows 7 when it comes out later this month. All new PC’s sold after October 22nd will include Windows 7.

 Sites That Can Save You Thousands : Part 5

The web is supposed to make shopping simple. Click, click, click and before you know it, that sweater, bag, or box of T-bones is at your doorstep. When it works, it’s like magic. But when it doesn’t, you can end up surfing endlessly. Lots of sites claim to make shopping easier.

There are more than two dozen price-comparison search engines alone. Some are worth your time and some aren’t. We’ve scoured the web to come up with a short list of sites that you can count on for great deals every time you shop.

Every month for the rest of 2009 we will be adding a new review of a web site in each newsletter that you can use to save money online. Bookmark them before you buy another thing!

Why we like it: Lots of sites aggregate hundreds of coupon codes that you can plug in at retailer web sites to get discounts.

To find them, simply Google a retailer’s name and “coupon” or “promotion,” and you’ll turn up dozens. But many of the codes are expired or invalid. Retailmenot.com helps you find codes that actually work, based on input from shoppers who have used them.

TIP: Click on the comments section for the code and you’ll see users’ tips for getting even more money off. One example we found: Combine a free-shipping code with a “percentage off total order” code.

Last weekend I took my wife and two-year old daughter to Las Vegas to attend the Kylie Minogue concert at The Palms. While we were there Kylie invited my daughter on stage during her hit “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head”. After the concert celebrity blogger Perez Hilton commented about my daughter on his web site calling her “cute”.
