The Amazon Kindle is an e-book reader, an embedded system for reading electronic books, launched in the United States by prominent online bookseller Amazon.com in November 2007.
The Kindle uses an electronic paper display, reads the proprietary Kindle (AZW) format (as well as several public formats), and downloads content over Amazon Whispernet, which uses the Sprint EVDO network.
The Kindle can be used without a computer. Whispernet is accessible through Kindle without any fee.
The Kindle is equipped to hold about 200 books and is capable of storing more than 4,000 eBooks at your fingertips.
The Amazon Kindle is even being tested in colleges across the country as a way to replace heavy textbooks.
Here’s why eBooks and the Kindle are a winning combination:
- Your customer doesn’t have to spend hours searching for a book.
- Your customer doesn’t have to pay for shipping.
- Your customer gets his/her eBook immediately rather than having to wait in long lines, or even having to wait for the book to arrive in the mail.
- It doesn’t cost any money to print eBooks and you don’t have to pay for postage since eBooks can be sent via email.
- You can make an unlimited number of copies which allows you to make 100% of the profit after the initial sale.
- Downloading eBooks onto a Kindle allows you to take your entire library with you any place, at any time! Right now it would be near impossible to carry your entire collection of books with you everywhere you go— The Kindle is equipped to hold about 200 books and is capable of storing more than 4,000 eBooks at your fingertips.
- The Amazon Kindle is even being tested in colleges across the country as a way to replace heavy textbooks.
- Since eBooks are digital, eBooks are cheaper than regular books
- eBooks take up less space than physical books.
- eBooks don’t require any paper, thereby saving trees and protecting the environment; with your computer or Kindle eBooks provide a “green way” to read.
